Help people to use our tools
We believe our tools like ERPNext can help organizations reduce waste and complexity. Frappe + ERPNext has the potential to be a “full stack” replacement for not only ERP (SAP/Oracle) but also the entire enterprise stack (Java/.NET). With this scope, we should help organizations by providing products and services to help them manage their technology platforms.
Why ERPNext over SAP B1 / Oracle
100% FOSS
Customizable
Future-ready
Challenges
Like millions of businesses in India, Precihole implemented Tally at the suggestion of their Chartered Accountant. It managed to account just fine. The rest of the business data lay scattered on papers, spreadsheets, and in the neurons-cells of our staff. This led to data silos.
Azar, co-founder at Precihole was a hobbyist programmer, he started automating ordering and stocking operations using Google scripts. It was a mini-erp in itself. However, this system soon became a liability due to huge error-prone manual work. Azar became a bottleneck and bug fixer.
Azar tried customizing Tally, which was a compromise on user interface and accessibility but the goal was to have a flexible system. Many of the company functions like HR, Quality control, and Manufacturing were not built in Tally and needed heavy customization and reliance on Tally Partners. This led to multiple apps, adding to the data silos. This became frustrating.
Benefits
After exploring Zoho and other options, Precihole chose ERPNext due to its open-source nature and ease of customization. Frappe's sales team connected Precihole with Frappe's authorized partner and the onboarding and implementation were simple. Very soon their team was self-reliant and chose to proceed with the maintenance and changes on their own.
The Accounts and Finance Manager (Shalaka) and the auditor both expressed skepticism about whether "yesterday's child" could handle the compliances effectively. After 6 months, the team gained a deeper understanding of ERPNext while testing it alongside existing systems. Eventually, Shalaka's belief that "ERPNext is better than Tally for compliances!" marked a turning point, affirming the success of ERPNext implementation. As of the Financial Year 22-23, the entire company operates on ERPNext.
Eventually, Precihole trained their entire team, including finance and software developers on ERPNext and Frappe Framework officially on the Frappe School. Despite initial skepticism about integrating computer engineers into a mechanical engineering company, Rehan joined the team and quickly grasped the Frappe framework. Alongside core functional implementers Shagufta, Nazir, Shalaka, Midhat, and Rehan played crucial roles in the ERPNext implementation, developing essential components that personalized ERPNext to their needs.
Currently, they have achieved stock transfer entries based on barcode scans and integrated a biometric attendance system with ERPNext. However, their ambitions extend beyond these accomplishments.
Impact
Successful on-time ERPNext go-live
Increased sales order to cash
Increased inventory turnover
